About the Author

Nancy I. Sanders grew up in a Christian home and dedicated her heart to Jesus at the tender young age of 12. She knows God loves children, and she loves to bring kids closer to God through the books and articles she writes.

She has published nearly 100 books with publishers such as Zonderkidz, Tyndale, Standard, Concordia, Reader’s Digest Children’s Books, Scholastic Teaching Resources, and the Adventures in Odyssey Imagination Station series with Focus on the Family.

Her picture book, D is for Drinking Gourd: An African American Alphabet (Illustrated by E. B. Lewis) won various awards including 2007 NAPPA Honors, 2008 IRA Teacher’s Choice, and Notable Social Studies Trade Books for Young People 2008. Her bestseller with Scholastic Teaching Resources, 25 Read & Write Mini-Books That Teach Word Families has sold over 260,000 copies to date.

Nancy’s historic based activity book, Old Testament Days: An Activity Guide has over 80 activities to help bring Bible times to life for young readers.
